I had hookworms. They were the easiest ones to kill but they made you the most sick. I literally felt like I was dying and all the life was sucked out of me before before I started treating myself. I think they go easier because they live off the blood which has the meds circulating in it. They do cause intestinal ulcerations when they detach abruptly. These are taking forever to heal.
