Re: Adrenal fatigue and fertility?
Wow, Joe- what an extensive and thoughtful reply. Thank you. Definitely some things to consider. I do think that I did chemical damage to my adrenal glands from years of "speeding", stress, and this most recent bout of caffeinated overdrive pushed me over the edge into symptomatic burnout. I guess I'm just looking for hope, as I said I'm pretty sure I actually have some glandular damage- to what degree, I'm not sure. I have an appointment with a naturopath early next month, so I will talk to her about everything you have presented here, and will be requesting to have heavy metal testing done, and also cortisol and pregnenolone (interesting that preg is a precursor to steroid production. I know for a fact that my progesterone is low without needing a test, simply because it's evidenced in my long, very light bleed menstrual cycles. Progesterone stimulates estrogen production, can't have one without the other.)
(P.S. Do you think that with time and relief of stressors, that the adrenal glands can physically regenerate to the point of functionality? I was doing a bit of research, and it seems that invertebrates have the ability to fully regenerate their kidneys after damage. I've always tended towards an "all or nothing" mentality- if you will. It's so difficult for me to wrap my head around the idea that some degree of this- in fact, any degree of this, is permanent or irreversible. Gives me lots to think about at 2-3 am for the hour or two I spend lying awake. :/ )
Also will have to check out the detox group you mentioned, as I probably do have some accumulated heavy metals to deal with. (Colored ink tattoos!) the military did nothing for me but vaccinate the crap out of me and feed me garbage.
Feeling the need to connect with others who are going through their healing koans.
Again- Thank you so much.
