Re: Anyone tried the CDSA stool test? Insightful or a scam?

I can explain it to you. Candida species colonize human mucus membranes and are controlled by the immune system and mucosal bacterial flora. The vagina, the tongue, the intestinal tract, the lungs, all of them are mucus membranes. Most healthy people have candida spores living on those membranes. However, their immune system and competitive flora don't allow candida to proliferate more than isolates cells. The infections occur when the flora or the immune system fail to protect against yeast colonization. It doesn't mean candida travel inside your bloodstream and infect the lungs, etc. Candida is there in low numbers but the immune fail allows it to growth and expand. Antibiotics disrupt the intestinal flora where more candida spores live. Intestinal candida colonization cause immune suppression allowing candida spores to multiply on those remote mucosal areas since the defenses are impaired. Most mucosal candida infections are associated to an intestinal reservoir that manipulates the immune system.
Now, there are people with severe immune suppression caused by a deteriorated health status such as cancer, AIDS, etc who doesn't have any immune protection. In these cases, candida may escape from the intestines to the bloodstream and invade vital organs. However, this isn't the case of most candida sufferers who looks for help here. These are specific cases with a high risk of fungemia. I have been here for years and don't know about any single case in this community. There isn't necessity of panicking the sufferers. If you understood it different, you have to review your knowledge about it. Another thing, the only pathogenic candida species that morphs is candida albicans or may be one more species. It is a mistake and an internet boosted myth to tell that morphogenesis is what cause candida infections. It is true the ability to morph increases candida albicans tissue invasion and virulence but candida tropicalis, candida glabrata, candida krusei, etc don't morph and are responsible for the most severe candida infections.
You should have it clear. Candida only infect the blood when you are totally immune paralyzed with a very low or not existent Th2 immune response. Contrary to mucosal infections, antibodies are the main line of defense when the yeast reach serum. Both response, TH1 and Th2 are implicated, but antibodies play the biggest role defending our blood of fungus.
