Adrenal fatigue cured, some fatigue remains
I have been waiting to post for a while to make sure that my results are consistent and that I am not falling back into adrenal fatigue. I will not say that I am 100% cured. Like Sherpa posted a while back, I no longer have adrenal fatigue but would now consider what I have chronic fatigue, something that I can actually tolerate and live a somewhat normal life. I am improving every day and I have no doubt that I will also be able to solve all the fatigue problems 100% sometime in the future.
I only used one thing to cure myself from adrenal fatigue, Ayurveda, traditional Indian medicine. It has been a little over a year that I have seriously been trying to use Ayurveda to cure myself (although I have known about Ayurveda and have been using some things the whole time). I suffered with adrenal fatigue for about 2 years, for a good amount of that time I could barely get out of bed, also experienced extreme
Depression and intense mental anguish, other symptoms as well.
In April of last year, I went to an Ayurvedic practitioner who had some diet recommendations and suggested some herbs to take. At the time I went to him I was basically bed-bound. Initially, his protocol seemed to be helping and I was able to be out of bed more, but unfortunately after a few months, what I was doing made things much, much worse. However, I still believed that Ayurveda could cure me, I just think that practitioner was wrong in all the recommendations. Around December, I stopped all these herbs and diet and decided to try to cure myself. I had been seriously studying Ayurveda for a while by that time and I used all my understanding to try to figure out what was going on with me and just use diet and herbs to fix myself.
The details of exactly what I did are not important because Ayurveda is very individualized. Each person will have certain foods that are beneficial or detrimental depending on their own individual nature. I picked foods that I knew where very good for me and stuck with those foods adding in small amounts of other foods but focusing on the ones that I was absolutely certain are like medicine for me. I took a few herbs and I'm still experimenting with which ones are the most helpful to me. But certainly, I have found a few that are extremely beneficial and very safe. By the way, just because they are natural herbs, doesn't mean they are safe and have no side effects; there are plenty of herbs that can have extreme side effects and some that are very safe, and as with everything in Ayurveda so much relies on are they right for you as an individual.
One issue that I feel was very important for me was cellular hydration. For much of the time that I had adrenal fatigue, I was chronically dehydrated regardless of how much water I drank (in fact drinking too much water without adding in the proper minerals, especially sodium dehydrate you further). Certainly, I was very sodium deficient but it also seemed like I was somewhat sodium intolerant. Even now, I'm still working on re-hydrating my body, it's not just a question of eating foods with the proper amounts of sodium, potassium, magnesium, etc., but also getting your body into a state where it can utilize and assimilate these elements and maintain a proper balance.
