Re: Hello, Newbie to Iodine Site Here

Thanks for the link Grizz, I will be sure to check it out this weekend. I clicked on the link but stopped there as work doesn't allow tiny urls for security reasons. Luckily my work week is almost up as I work four, ten hour days. Great having a long weekend but as I get older, it's harder to have a personal life during the week. I need all the sleep I can get and don't get enough.

A couple of things I remembered that I had in the back of my head to mention when I first posted. I'm overweight, been so forever. I was walking for exercise and was quite happy doing so, then inertia set in and I've quit for several years. Living in the Sonora Desert doesn't help, it is 103 degrees F right now as I type this at 3PM, and it will only get hotter, not really cooling off until around October. Kind of hard to get motivated for anything. I think my BP meds make me less tolerant to the heat.

Started growing my own food last fall, had some good romain lettuce varieties and great heirloom tomatoes. I was sad to find out my spinach was a goitergen, but I ate it anyway. I'm already missing them. The lettuce is long gone and the tomato plants are dying. Only a few fruits hanging on left and any new flowers seem to burn up in the heat before they're pollinated. All I have left is some strawberry plants, onions, and peppers. The peppers do like the heat though. Want to get into aquaculture, but it's too hot for fish in the summer unless I come up with some way to raise them indoors.

So the weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol are the main things I'm trying to improve with iodine. I mentioned my mom in my first post. The doctors are slowly cutting parts out of her, she had her gallbladder removed before Christmas and still hasn't healed completely from that. Both she and my dad take a mountain of pills, something I want to avoid. Though I laugh at myself as right now, I'm taking more supplement pills than my prescription medicines.

One other incident I can think of right now that happened right after starting iodine. I had a tooth 'explode." I still have several fillings in my mough, though they are slowly being replaced with crowns as the teeth break apart. I realize that there is a lot of urging to have them removed. I don't know what my dentist will saw when I ask him. Though he's the best dentist I've ever been to and I like him a lot, he was one of the proponents for floridation when they started adding it to the local water in the 1980s. That makes me sad. I was wondering though, if the Iodine pushed the filling out of the tooth due to the mercury, causing it to break.

Oh yeah, I have floaters in my eyes, which seemed to clear up after a while after starting with the Iodine but now seem to have come back with a vengance.

Already have had my eight drops today but since it's the weekend for me, I'll probably take a bit more this evening, and for the next couple of days to get closer to my goal and deal with any new detox that may come up.
