Re: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome diagnosis....can anyone relate?
I've wanted to see an endocrinologist for years now, but with no money and no insurance, I couldn't get around to it until I jumped on the Obamacare insurance train. It was such a godsend. Insofar, I've been to the gastro, then a dermatologist, who then recommended me to an endo. Now, I have to go to a gyno.
It's been a lot of going to different doctors, but I don't mind. All of them have been pretty nice and even though my nerves are a wreck, I'm still strong enough and articulate enough to explain my situation without a fear of being shunned or dismissed.
This is my battle that I'm fighting. I'm losing right now, but I intend to win. I just needed to get the tools; tools I couldn't afford. Now that I can, I intend to use them as best as I can.
I hope you'll be able to go to an endocrinologist, as I think it's very important to check your hormones to rule out the possibility of hormone related issues. Smelling worse during your period does sound PCOS related. Any period irregularities can indicate PCOS. I haven't seen my period in over 2 months. I never smelled worse in my period. I just smell bad pretty all around, but not everyone with PCOS share all of the same symptoms.
I hope I'm finally close to the end of the road. As White Shark suggested below, I need to work on my diet and exercise. I intend to work on all of that. I'm tired of living this way. It's got to come to an end.
