Re: If Nobody Committed Adultery And Fornication There Would Be No Need To Have An Abortion.
Hey I responded to your other post but wanted to add this.
Access to contraceptives, sex education, and safety are all a privledge to have in a first world country. Think about abortion in a place the Slumdog Millionaire. An absolute ghetto, where women could be raped with no options of a Morning After Pill. Somewhere like Somalia where children are forced into sex before they learn that there are other ways of living, or even in part of the Ukraine, where you just don't have a system set in place to teach the youth about diseases and how pregnancy works.
Often in these places, even if the child is born, they will be born into a life of horror, suffering, and a very short lifespan. I know I sound spoiled but I personally would rather have had my parents end my life so that I wouldn't have to suffer and starve every day, hoping that I don't lose anymore friends or family to politics.
Now I do agree with you that people need to be more responsible about getting pregnant in the first place, especially in a place like America where you have all the means to do so. But I feel the pressure for young women to have a child when they don't want to is unfair. If having a child will ruin a girls life and she doesn't feel comfortable with it. Pressuring her to not get an abortion is emotional rape. The people who stand outside of clinics harrassing these women are evil and have no empathy for that girl. They don't really care about the girl or the child, they care about their own beliefs only.
