I had really bad insomnia for a while and I tried all sorts of meds and remedies, but what really worked for me was when I went to see a hypnotherapist - I had about 4 sessions and started getting great sleep again. I tried a couple of different hypnotherapists at first until I found a good one, but it was worth it.
If I ever have difficulty getting to sleep, I'll listen to a hypnosis app or download that I like - I have a great recording that really helps me drift off.
