Is eating cooked vegetables only counted as a fast?

So, I'm fasting to lose weight and am on my 3rd day of a water fast.

Quite thankful I read up about 'breaking fasts' as I was intending on fasting for 30 days before leaving for my clubbing holiday in about 30 days, where loads of alcohol will be consumed >.< Would probably have died abroad if it weren't for this forum!!!!!

Now, I'm planning on consuming 1-2 portions of cooked vegetables (cauliflower, bell peppers, spinach, etc) for the next 30 odd days before my holiday.

Will being on this cooked vegetables 'diet' be considered a 'fast'?

Will I still have to allow time for me to 'break fast'?

Really don't want to die from consuming alcohol after a fast! Read on this forum that a man died from having potatoes after a long water fast.

Please help me! I don't know what I'm doing :(
