This is something I actually agree with...mostly.
If something makes you feel bad after eating it, then a typical response would be to avoid it. BUT, it is not always the case that the food you have just ingested is the culprit for why you feel bad. There might be a correlation from the food you ate and the bad feeling you have, but this does not mean that food caused the bad feeling.
I have not seen a paleo diet that includes grains. You are correct on that Swansong. But paleo is not the healthiest diet in my opinion either. Again, the WHO (world health organization) recommends fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds in a healthy diet.
This paleo craze started to help people lose weight, which it did. Unfortunately, most of the weight lost, turned out to be water weight from the lack of carbohydrates consumed, which contain 4 or 6 water molecules attached to each.
