Re: PLEASE HELP non Hodgkin's lymphoma that has spread to the brain with intercrainial swelling, bone mets

I recommend that you go to cancertutor.com and see what Webster Kerr has to offer on his site. He does not sell anything but has great advice for late stage cancer.

I understand the urgency that you feel and the pressure that the medical professionals are applying. Do not despair but do know that there are those who care.

At the end of Feb. 2006, my wife was basically in the same position as you, or quite possibly worse.

She had multiply metastasized NSCLC that had spread to her adrenals and to her brain. Her main tumor was the length of a football and was wrapped around her heart, therefore inoperable. She had been avoiding standard chemo and radiation for a long time as you have. She had been showing signs of a brain tumor for 8 to 10 years.

The tumor on one adrenal was the size of a grapefruit and there were 4 sizable tumors in her brain, the largest being the size of a golf ball. The oncologist said that she could go into a coma at a moments notice and that she would definitely go into a coma and die in 2 to 4 weeks.

The oncologist said that the only thing that could be done was radiation and that might add a month to her life. My wife looked at me and said that she did not want radiation, so I told the doctor that we were going to follow with natural and alternative therapies. The Oncologists became very angry and said not with me you are not! My immediate reply was that she was going to continue and that the doctor was going to do everything that she could to help, including follow up tests, etc.

Three months later as my wife was walking down the hospital corridors, a group of younger doctors who had seen her early on came around the corner in shock to see her still alive and doing better than she had before. She had a follow up CT scan that came out looking like cancer had spread every where in thousands of little droplets. I questioned my wife about what had happened. Apparently, the tech had spilled some of the dye and had wiped it over her body.

The same day, the doctor changed her pain reliever. I did not realized for several days what had happened. My wife who was hypersensitive to acetaminophen went into organ failure because she had been prescribed hydrocodone with acetaminophen. In big Red letters on the front cover of her folder was "No acetaminophen".

The one place that I took my wife to that was a real blessing was the Burzynski Clinic in Houston where they attempted to treat her brain tumors. I can not say how successful this was medically, but it was an uplifting and encouraging experience for my wife. I assume that if I were facing the same problem, I would go there. Not only was Dr. Stan B. was warm and caring person but the entire staff and many of the patients were caring, encouraging, and compassionate.

I will say that If I had known than what I know now, she would probably have lived months longer at the minimum. However, I am not God and in the end, all things are in his hands.

My prayers are for and with you.

David
