Here is my take on it for what its worth. Tissue within the body generally serves a purpose, the purpose for reproductive tissue is in keeping the human race alive. In order to do so the originating organism must be healthy enough to do so. The body prioritizes function and while reproduction is built into our genes, self preservation is as well and takes precedence.
With the above in mind I firmly believe that biological functions get a priority and reproductive organs are not a high priority in the big scheme of survival so tissue associated with that function are often the first to suffer and in turn the last to be restored when the body is forced to dole out natural resources. Keep on the path of full body sufficiency and the body will restore the tissue in time according to its own necessity vantage point.
