Re: Borax Question
Not sure what to make of that, there been "studies" that go both ways, non-conclusive. Also talk among body builders, athletes. If you could increase T by taking B, that'd be a great thing, undetectable in a steroid test. But I don't think its that simple. Rather, borate impacts some enzyme activity, definitely in a positive way for those who are deficient in it, like anything else people are deficient in. i.e., ingest something you are deficient in, and you will feel better. Think of children in India with rickets, and they have scrambled eggs twice a week suddenly. They feel better. Would they be inclined to eat 2 dozen eggs a day because of that ? Most would not, they just go on with their life.
Its a no-brainer for things like iodine, lithium, potassium , etc. Ingest something you are deficient in, and you feel better. Like a first kiss, mmmmm soooo good, but we don't kiss all day, even if it is oooo sooo good. B might increase T in the short term, but how ? inhibiting one of the enzymes responsible for destruction /metabolism of T ? enhancing activity of enzyme that converts T to DHT thereby fooling the body to make more T ? Inhibiting DHEA from going to estrone ? Its a complex ball of wax, and simple statement like rise in free T that boron "releases" doesn't really come close, in my humble opinion. I would say in me , borate had a calming effect, even though I was already calm. Not like a sedative, but a beneficial calmness increase in sense of well-being. A slight amount, very slight, but noticeable. Not enough to make me want to gobble down a box of Mule Team though. I just look at nature and mimick what she wanted to give me naturally in my food, which is just a teeny-tiny bit, now and then. People who go overboard on anything usually regret it, so resist any temptation to want more of a good thing that a tiny bit is necessary of , like intimacy or boxing, television, etc. lol.
