Dr. Wilsons Adrenal Burnout theory just burned out
--This post is about Dr. Lawrence D. Wilson, MD, author of the book 'Nutritional Balancing and Hair Mineral Analysis' who uses the term Adrenal Burnout Syndrome to describe "Adrenal Fatigue" and lead promoter of the expensive Nutritional Balancing protocol. He's not to be confused with Dr. James L. Wilson, DC, ND, who supposedly coined the term "Adrenal Fatigue", wrote the book 'Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Stress Syndrome', and now sells supplements.--
I guess Dr. Lawrence Wilson himself got sick with what he believes was "Adrenal Burnout"/"Adrenal Fatigue", whatever you want to call it.
Most of you know I now agree with the mainstream medical community that
Adrenal Fatigue is not a real condition. All the evidence points that "AF" really is just the effects of prolonged calorie-restriction and that's why
the symptoms are exactly the same as starvation, why most people labeled with "AF" actually have
elevated cortisol levels instead of lower levels, and why
women are 'diagnosed' way more often than men because women are way more likely to calorie-restrict.
Those on this forum who got sick on some kind of vegan diet and think they have "AF" as a result blame the diet for mostly causing their health problems, but I've been trying to tell these people that most likely it wasn't the vegan diet that got them sick, but that they were simply under-eating when they were vegan.
From all the researched I've done on plant-based diets, including the vegan diet, the number one mistake vegans seem to make was under-eating and if you look at everybody here who got sick while being vegan, they all seem to have some kind of history of calorie-restriction, whether intentional or accidental.
With that, guess what diet Dr. Wilson was on when he got sick?

What are you going to believe, Dr. Wilson's elaborate theory that vegetarian/vegan diets can cause this scientifically unproven phenomenon of "Adrenal Burnout" because the diets are too Yin and low in "etheric energy" that creates a copper/zinc imbalance and causes women to crave male sexual fluid (he really does
say that) and recommends people spend tons of money on NB consultations and supplements, or the simple explanation that people like Dr. Wilson were just not eating enough on their vegan diet and that's how they became low in nutrients and developed fatigue?
Low calories = low energy
