Li-brain.
Lately I got a #case#, a young man with suicide thoughts.. and his parents wont let the psycs near him. I immediately thought about litium.
Because; he is not actually depressed, more that he had impulses that it would be "cool" to kill himself. Other symptoms was an neverending rush of thoughts, each scattered in 100 of fragments (his words)
- difficulty with consentrating at school because of it. His school grades have gone down lately, from A to B typically.
Li is involved in bipolarity of the brain, where impulse control is one of the issues.
Anyway, apart from the "talk it out" that is therapeutic in itself; I gave him some Li mixed with a CMD (basically magnesium chloride) which is what I had at hand.
Roughly estimated 5 mg of litium daily (but never trust me on exact dosages)
This is now 14 days ago, and today I got a feedback; suicidal thoughts not so prominent, under control. The amazing effect however is that the thought rush is gone completely. "I can finally have one thought at a time" his words.
Also; a few days after his first dosage of Li, his first straight A in advanced math for a long time.
