Re: Serum iodine level low to high in 3 months

Im a proponent of vit D myself but in order for it to be of full use you have to make sure to get ample magnesium. Additionally vit A is a good bet when supplementing vit D as well, the consensus seems to be about a 5:1 ratio of vit A to D. A good vit K supplement should be added as well.

Keep in mind at first your thyroid numbers may go a bit crazy and you may also need a little more selenium.

Its a big spiderweb for sure and lab work can help but at the same time it can confuse so its really important you have an experienced doc. It sounds like yours is trying so I will give him kudos for that but I would question everything he does and try and do some of your own research on it.

Your not going to OD on lugons/iodarol unless you start taking it by the handful. The main concern is the detox and how to adress it. Some take a boatload of Iodine and power thru detox. For others its more than they can handle so have to go slower. There is no right or wrong dose, you will just have to try upping it knowing that the more you take the sooner you will detox and if you find you cant tolerate the detox, dropping the dose should ease the symptoms rather quick.
