You need to test for esinophilia, and they will be a sure guarantee that you have "worms" if that turns up positive; but "worms" could be a number of things, and not just "worms" most people assume they have or assume they see. people who claim they see worms are often misguided and mistaking some food particle for them. One rarely sees worms unless they are ascaris, large enough for the stomach to have NOT digested and broken them them. Often worms show up in the form of "eggs" which are simply not detectable to the naked eye. So unless one is a trained parasitologist, with knowledge to distinguish between, say, between
Ascaris eggs vs. trichuria. Also certain worms are always not in stool; they are systematic, which means they are in your tissues.... etc.
Of course you need a reliable stool testing, even though a "negative" does not rule out parasites, as they often do not "show" up in samples. You could also have protozoa, and you have to know your history of what you have been eating, and where you have been, to suspect what you MAY have caught. SO best to avoid risky food practices you have taken part lately, like eating excotic food, or salads imported from the rest of the world, or out of season imported fruit. some of the Major culprits...
