do not lose sight of the fact that all medical studies have been performed on iodine-deficient subjects, and the results are not extrapolable to you and I. Likewise, many of the diseases studied in the literature using iodine-defieicne subjects are inapplicable to us and will not occur. Discussing these matters with the general masses is of no value, at the level of discussion necessary they are incapable of understanding and hence typically respond only with more questions or in a worse case, argue with you. My position is to let Darwin's theory, or more appropriately Nature's Way, of survival of the fittest, apply to them as was meant to be. The Federation's Prime Directive is to not interfere with the natural course of life on any planet we visit. Why should this one be any different ?
