Multinodular goitre one partially calcified nodule, will iodine work?

So instead of holiday shopping, a sixth sense found me making my way to the hospital to see if my thyroid ultrasound report was in, fortunately found .

Suspicion confirmed. Impression: multinodular goitre with one partially calcified nodule for which biopsy is suggested. I have been referred to en endocrinologist for that and any other intervention. I am worried this will take more than 6 months as I tried to get an appointment with this same endocrinologist last year when I suspected that my fatigue, cold all the time, bleeding/ fibroids/ infertility were connected to thyroid/and or hormones while my ob-gyn did not think so. At that time I was told 6-8 months and somehow just let it slide, (my RE ordered the ultrasound).I wish I knew who writes their text books!!

On the good side I have time to use Iodine. I need to go for a comprehensive blood test specifically for thyroid (4 tests)on Thursday 26 dec.

My questions

1. Should I lay off the Iodine till after my blood draw on Thursday? Will affect any of the tests.

2. Anyone dealt with a calcified nodule with Iodine and had it go?

3. Biopsy? Do or not?

Thanks for all suggestions.

Oh and I refused the Lupron that was in the works, I have to listen to my body now.
