I believe that. Also, many religions advocate the practice of fasting. It not only has health benefits, but opens up the spiritual realm. I am a Christian and a strong Bible believer, believing that the Bible was written down by men, but inspired by God. I believe that it is God-breathed. Moses had two forty day fasts and, if I am remembering it right, he only had one meal in between the two. That means his second forty day fast was an extension of the first. That would mean he really had an eighty day fast. I believe that is how he got the revelation from God about the beginnings of the world and creation. How else would he have known? No man was around when God created the world so he had no one else to learn from. The Holy Spirit dictated to Moses as he wrote it down. This may have all happened on the mountain during the time God gave him the ten commandments. He was fasting at the time. I think it was a dry fast too. :)
