Re: Victim of violence with questions

It sounds to me that you may have some post traumatic stress disorder from such an ordeal. I am so sorry you had such a horrible thing happen to you. When something happens like someone coming to your door it "triggers"your fear. When we are very fearful it is difficult to do things like remember to call 911, It's the fight or flight syndrome and our thinking and even our vision is compressed.

You say you will never h ave closure. Think about this,,,what would it take for you to GET CLOSURE. What do you think closure is? Closure consists in my mind in ACCEPTING that this bad thing happened, and you can't change the past. AND it does take TIME and work. I would strongly suggest that you get into touch with a group counseling for rape survivors and see a psychiatrist for medications to add to the group counseling. It wss what saved my sanity. Also I would suggest that you look at a victim's (of all kinds of trauma) site http://www.180rule.com
It's got good information about the kind of people whoo do this sort of thing (psychopaths( and also on healing our wounds. God bless...you CAN find closure and peace.
