Re: Is 5 htp bad for people with low cortisol?

I take it occasionally and have no problems with a 50mg dose before bed.
We're all different, it's best to test it at a low dose.
I take griffola seed extract, rather than a highly processed 5-HTP product.

My cortisol is low, my partner's is normal - i feel a positive response from 5HTP at 50mg, yet my partner doesn't notice any effects.
We're all very different, depending alot on personal MAO activity.

I wouldn't suggest taking it in the morning, as it converts quite rapidly into tryptophan..and you'll feel sleepy!

For comparison, 200mg was the highest dose i did and i felt completely whacked-out by it. Very tired, nauseous, had to crash-out. It's considered a high dose - i was being my own lab rat out of curiosity.
