Re: Trapper's SSKI and wisdom tooth extraction..........
I work for a dentist. When a patient gets a dry socket like your friend had, we irrigate w/saline and then swab the socket with an 'old-timers' remedy of
Iodine and creosote. Sometimes, if the bone is exposed, we pack the socket w/gauze coated in
Iodine and a paste w/eugenol (smells bad but stops pain in 10 minutes). For canker sores and other soft tissue injuries, a Q-tip in
Iodine (ORA5 is the product) placed on the spot for 1 minute will heal the wound quicker.
Never posted on this forum but been a long time CZ fan. Just wanted to share since I work in the field and iodine is a standard protocol we use. My dentist has been in practice 38 years and his father was also a dentist.
By the way, my dentist takes nascent drops daily and I take 10 drops
Lugol's w/co-supps at least 5 days per week. If he has a patient presenting w/goiter or thyroid issues, he will tell them to research iodine (not prescribe, just suggest).
I feel blessed to have this forum to learn from.
