What brand of HCI are you using? Could you try a different brand of HCI? That seems a great deal to be taking even with a large meal. That's more than twice what I have been taking and I don't think meals could get any larger than mine. In fact I am seriously thinking about reducing my meal size to make it easier on my stomach to digest. Smaller meals might work better when the digestive system function is diminished. Little and often might be a better approach.

You could leave the capsules in your mouth until they become a little soft before swallowing them. Saliva might help break the capsule up. Be careful that the capsule doesn't break.

I've received the Swanson hydrochloric acid caps and they seem to be working okay. I've doubled them due to the lower dosage but I am getting about the same of HCI, I'm not sure about the pepsin due the way the concentration is listed. I do also take Digest Ultimate, usually 2 capsules.

I've been starting to take some HCI on an empty stomach with 100ml of water and I'm increasing the number of capsules ATM. I want the acid concentration as high as possible to help destroy any bacteria in my stomach. In theory that should help stop the belching. Tweet
