Re: Islam Explained in Layman's Terms
The Missouri had some heavy duty so your dad was probably very busy during
his time there. Sorry to hear of his death by cancer.
I spent the first four months out of harm's way in Korea in Masan not far
from Pusan. I started drinking heavily (a fifth of whiskey was 75 cents -
wasn't yet 21 but that didn't seem to bother anyone). I drank every day
and every night and it scared me so much that I asked for a transfer north to
get away from the alcohol and they honored my request.
We were programmed in boot camp to hate sailors. It didn't take too
well for me because I had a brother who served in the Navy in the South Pacific
during WWII. Also when I arrived in a front line company we had Navy
corpsmen who faced the same incoming and sniper fire that we did - but they
didn't have a weapon to defend themselves - per the Geneva Convention.
They wore the Marine Corps uniform and to me and most of the other guys they
were gods. To this day I have a high regard for those corpsmen and the
Army medics too. Most people don't realize that the Navy corpsmen are
right along side the Marines in battle.
I too have cancer. Beat prostate cancer several years ago and still
have my prostate. Had lung cancer, once in each lung at different times
and am fully recovered from surgery. I'm now engaged in a battle with
multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer) but I've been ingesting hemp oil - the
kind with THC which required a physicians letter and my oncologist handed me one
within five minutes after I asked him. He encouraged me to use it and my
first lab tests after using it for less than two weeks indicated that my cancer
was stabilized so the doc changed my visits with him from once a month to once
every two months. There are all sorts of rave reviews about it on
the Internet but I'm rather skeptical. I can get this legally in my state
- Washington, and have a good supply on hand. I take it three times a day
and don't get much of a high from it. Wish I could get hemp oil with THC
for everyone who has cancer but the restrictions in most other states don't
allow it.
