I also got the results from my cultures. After 3 weeks of 50 mg/day Fluconazole I still have Candida on my lips. I do have some bacteria on my lips as well (some kind of Staph being one of them), but my derm still thinks that "everybody has those on the lips, so it's regular flora and not a problem". Not sure about that.. Unfortunately, she's on vacation for two weeks now and she'll talk to an "expert" about how to proceed after she comes back. In the meantime, I'm now also using a antiseptic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octenidine_dihydrochloride) 2-3 times per day, on the lips, around the lips and in my nose.
I really don't think a "Candida diet" will really help (I've yet to hear of scientific studies showing that it does in systemic Candida cases, I think), especially as it's on the skin, so I'm pretty sure I'm not going to do that. Stronger antifungals should do the trick :-) We'll see..
