"Not that I agree with all you say, but it looks like you've done
some thinking for yourself, which is refreshing."
Thank you very much.
I really don't ask for anyone to believe what I believe. We are truly
children of God and we are going to relate to her/him (God has no gender) in our
own way. If you have siblings like I do you know that each sibling views
their parents differently, some claiming one or another was a
"favorite" and some even running away from home.
When you have been raised in an evangelical church as I was and was taught
that everything is in terms of absolutes it eventually pisses you off.
I've been in front line combat with death and dying around me and shots fired
directly at me. I'm also a sole survivor from an air disaster in which I
bailed from a burning airplane. Each of those experiences were small steps
in my path back to God - who I hated at the time. I learned I didn't
really hate God, I hated someone else's God and I've had to repair that issue
too. I'm still on a path back to God though I still get side tracked once
in a while. Perhaps posting in Christianity Debate is a side track but I'm
enjoying it a great deal and learning at the same time.
