When I read that article last year, I didn't know what to think. Milk Thistle has had a good reputation for a long time. So I sent an email to a well known American herbalist whose books I own whose name I will not mention here. Here is what he wrote back:
"I think this article is pure unadulterated "poo." It is purely conjectural and theoretical. I'm speaking from the perspective of an herbalist and in concert with other reknowned herbalists like my friend [...]to name only two who have used huge amounts of it not to mention the chronic hepatis patients who I meet every couple of weeks who found it to regulate and bring down their liver destructing enzymes. I had a patient with advanced cirrhosis who managed his condition for over 5 years at the bewilderment of liver specialists who thought he would just die.
Why would you believe such garbage? There's living, highly experienced long time practicing herbalists, the American Herbalist Guild, ec. you don't need to be suc***ed by this line of malarkey."
