Re: How do people react when you're around?
Working with groups of 10-35 at a time is definitely challenging. My odor can even spread down the hallway.
The initial comment is always, "It smells weird." After that, there will be comments like, "It smells like sewage, feces, farts." Eventually they will put two and two together and say, "She smells."
After that, people will begin sneezing and taking out tissue to wipe their nose. Then comes the clearing of the throat or coughing if I'm having a really bad day.
I wonder if the odor doesn't make some people sick because sometimes people will complain of not feeling well.
And the more stress, the stronger the odor.
You're not alone in this. Most of us on this site have had our share of humiliating comments directly or indirectly flung our way. It takes its toll physically, mentally, and emotionally.
We cope by taking it a minute, an hr. a day at a time.
Everyone who has mentioned diet is right. Food is our salvation or our curse. It's just finding out what works for us. It took a long time to get our
Body Odor and it's not going to take a day or week to get rid of it. Most are saying 6 weeks to 6 months. The important thing is to be persistent and not give up.
