I certainly wouldn't be taking anything just because someone else is taking it. Everyone is unique, so everyone has to figure out for themselves what it is they want/need to supplement.

My hormone levels are at the moment so screwed up, that I use natural progesterone cream in the two weeks before my menstruation. It has helped me tremendously with my symptoms.

But if you don't have any symptoms to combat, why should you be taking any hormones?

Don't focus too much on estrogen alone. If you have a hormonal issue, it might as well be one of the many other hormones that are causing your symptoms. From what I've read, doctors themselves often get it wrong and mess their patients up, so you'd have to find a doc with a lot of experience and common sense first. There is risk involved here.

If your body still has all his/her parts and - in theory - should be able to work well, then the best doctor you can get is your own body, it knows best.

My own approach here is to fix everything that is going wrong in my body by taking Iodine and co's and detox supps and eating well and so forth. I'm assuming that when my body is back in business, it can take care of its own again. The progesterone, Thiroyd, stomac acid, enzymes and the like that I'm taking are only to make the journey easier/faster. I'm going off them as soon as my body can do it on its own again. Body knows best.
