A friend of mine was hospitalized with severe nausea and diarrhea and almost complete dehydration. He had been taking tramadol for over 10 years and developed many of the side effects. In the last week before hospitalization he only was able to take the tramadol as nothing else would pass through the esophagus and he developed severe swelling in the esophagus right above the upper stomach valve and could barely drink any water after that. Doctors put him on drip infusion to save his life, and are now checking if the swelling is cancerous instead of wondering about the relationship with tramadol intake on an empty stomach for more than a wee.
Please, if anyone knows how to get the inflamed area in the esophagus back to normal it would be much appreciated, he stopped taking the tramadol now.
