Re: Please feel free to tell your Story on my Mirena Help Site and read other womens Mirena stories.
Hello, The reason why I came here (First post) is because I saw an ad on T.V for individuals who have had personal injury due to the Mirena I.U.D.There are lawyers looking for clients to help compensate them for their pain and suffering. It is American based.
I have been Mirena free for over two years now. I did not have it inserted for long as I experienced a major change of my moods plus I was getting horrible mental images that were quite disturbing.
After I had it inserted I experienced labour like pains. It was excruciating!! I was light headed and felt like I was going to pass out. I was experiencing cold sweats and the pelvic pains lingered for quite some time. I hung in there feeling like it was simply my body just trying to reject the foreign object. The mental images were getting worse, they were so grotesque I don't want to descibe them to you but they were images of killing myself.
I went online to do some research to see what was going on, If I was going crazy or if this Mirena was to blame. I should have done the research sooner as the pamphlet I was given was simply trying to sell me the product and saying good things about it. As I read more stories about women going through hell because of Mirena I finally figured it out. Because I have suffered from
Depression on and off for many years It was not at all compatable with my body. I'm guessing because of the horomones? I got it removed as soon as I figured this out!
My doctor and my OBGYN dropped the ball on this one in my opinion. I had a history of
Depression and they should not have let me get that "thing" inserted. They should have been more educated that
Depression and Mirena are an awful combination. I hope no one goes through what I did, not only was it a waste of alot of money, but it was a waste of time and I will always be haunted by the disturbing mental images I had after Mirena was inserted.
I recommend that EVERYONE do research on this product before getting it inserted and not just look at the pamphlet the doctor provides trying to sell it. I have given it much thought and I really don't think anything should be in our uterus except a baby. If you're considering an effective form of birth control PLEASE consider other products but do the research. I have learned alot with my experience and I hope you have as well with my story.
