Review the how to make the arrays videos. There is supposed to be small gap between two Stainless Steel plates.
IMO the easiest is to buy the Chinese made arrays they have two SS springs one inside the other perfectly gapped.
All one needs then is to phono plug that can be clipped onto the battery charger..
The arrays go for as cheap as $4 and are disposable when you can't clean the crud off them anymore..
The one quick and dirty test video had the guy use two spoons, he put a small piece of plastic between them and then used cable ties to lock 'em. IMO instead of trying to find a spacer I would use a couple of cable ties around a single spoon then two more to lock them together. The thickness of the smaller plastic cable ties looks perfect for a gap. You then bend the ends into opposite directions so you can attach the jumper cables which should not be in the water.
This is a small stainless steel area vs a $4 array or some of the other home made ones on Utube. But apparently enough to give you brown water..
