Gradual liver restoration.
Hi, So I completed my first liver flush over the last 24 hours and am feeling horrible. I got a lot of movement and freeing of what feels like sludge over the course of the night , so much so that I had to take an ambien to sleep through it. My chest feels lighter and less congested, but I feel like I've been hit by a truck, and I didn't see any stones in my stool. FYI I used magnesium citrate instead of epsom salts, and did 2 lemons, 1/2 cup of olive oil, and once I felt I needed more I did another 1/4 cup of olive oil and more magnesium citrate. I wanted to start slow and I'm glad I did with the way I'm feeling. I did almost a quart warm water enema in the morning to free up any left over toxins but it didn't seem to help much. I'm looking to a gradual path to restore liver function, because flushing doesn't feel safe or effective for me.
Here is some info on my case so you can better advise me: Severe systemic candida for two years, which crashed my endocrine system and distabilized my neurology, put into near remission in february by a long course of nystatin. Right before I was put into remission, I had no ability to fight the candida anymore, no antifungals or probiotics would work, and my infestation was running rampid. The nystatin was a miracle cure, but by then I feel the damage had been done to my liver and I still have lingering symptoms like rash, urinary pain, fatigue, blood blisters, and foot fungus. I have been left mentally impaired by my illness, I am either schizo affective or bipolar with psychotic features (the mental illness surfaced in september of 2012). I am on a cocktail of psych meds which are still being worked out, but some of them cause a lot of stress on the liver (depakote mainly), and I need a way of cleansing and returning normal function to my liver without jeopordizing the effectiveness of my meds, so my liver can handle these drugs and also process the toxins that will be released once I am able to get to work on my remaining candida colonies. Besides all of this I am feeling better than I have in years physically. I work out 3 times a week and lead a pretty active lifestyle considering my condition.
What reccommendations do people have regarding a gradual, safe protocol for cleaning and tonifying my liver? I'm thinking about chinese bitters, master cleanse drinks with a tsp of olive oil daily, milk thistle, and other complimentary herbs/supplements to strengthen and decongest my liver. I guess what I'm asking is what kind of routine would people implement in my situation, and what are the most important supplements to include in my regimen? What has worked for people trying to gradually restore their liver?
I feel like once I can get my liver functioning properly again, most of my other medical problems will be much easier to resolve, so even though it's hard to face this issue, I need to get to work on it and resolve it. Please help however you can. Thanks.
