Re: Some Thoughts On EC

Oh, I just saw the original article posted by Daniel.

Since I do not get the crusting, I must not have a bacteria infection. It is very possible I have a candida infection since my blood test is positive. Improving the intestines probably also improves candida.

Th treatment for guinea pigs included cleaning with a mild antiseptic solution and using topical and systemic Antibiotics . It was recommended to check for dental disease.

Another treatment for bacteria infection included applying triple Antibiotic ointment sparingly twice daily. "Daily application may be required to keep the infection from returning." I am curious about the injectable form of enrofloxacin (Baytril) topically (getting injections in lips). Can this be used on humans?

To treat candida, Nystatin Suspension was applied to pigs 5-6 times a day by Q-tip and cleared up in only two days.

"Dental disease and vitamin C deficiency may also be contributing factors.
Make sure your guinea pig is fed nutritious foods and getting adequate B vitamins and vitamin C."
