Re: The Mystery of Contemplative Prayer

I have not watched all of these videos, but I agree, that being still and knowing God could very easily switch into new age, mindless - mind opening. That's why christians need to study their bible to be able to discern the difference and where we cross the line. I don't know enough about soaking in the Lord to know if that is mindlessly done, but I know that if it is, then it runs close to being hypnotism as well. For isn't that what is asked of one being hypnotized? To empty one's mind so the will of another can override it?

However, I'm guessing that someone who does this type of contemplative prayer believes that because they worship the One True God, that they are safe in the Holy Spirit and have no fears of being visited in the midst of their prayer.... by the adversary.
