Re: Help! Need suggestions for tapering off glandulars!

Hi AngelofEventide,

I too am ++ for MTHFR 677T and have been slowly advancing with a protocol to help this pathway.

From what i understand (so far) B vits are needed, especially B6. The main thing to avoid is folic acid as the MTHFR gene is needed to work properly in order to convert it into the useable form methylfolate.
Of course, synthetic B vits are rubbish for anyone and i take p-5-p form of B6.

B12 (methyl, adenosyl, and hydroxy liquid combo) has really helped me hugely - more energy and more calm. We are all different but maybe if you can't start the protocol fully getting started on B12 could help in the meantime?

From this site about MTHFR:

"Having adequate levels of B vitamins is important, since lack of B vitamins, especially vitamin B6 may cause problems in the pathway."

As you're feeling worse after just one day off the Drenamine perhaps wait until your mom's memorial is over before you begin to taper off it.
You could try going another day to see how you feel after 2 or 3 days off the Drenamine, as sometimes the first day off is always the worst. If you keep feeling worse and worse after 3 days go back on it and wait until after the memorial.

There's no point in overly stressing the situation if you have a stressful event coming up anyway - remember to be kind to yourself :-)

I'm sorry to hear of your mom's passing...words can never convey the sympathy felt but i wish you strength and peace as you go through this life challenge.
*hugs*
