Re: Is this candida, seems to be
Hey, that is quite an ordeal you have been through. There is nothing in your story that points specifically to candida, but it is certainly a possibility; it does seem that your whole system is under stress which will certainly compromise immunity and make you prone to candida overgrowth. Your doctor is not exactly correct, yes only people with a compromised immune system will have candida but it doesn't have to be from HIV or chemotherapy, there are many levels of decreased immunity that doctors accept as 'normal' that is actually not normal at all. My feeling is that your diet and lifestyle that led up to all of this was probably about the opposite of what is optimal for your body. Usually we don't notice all the health problems and imbalances increasing until we hit a wall and suddenly realize all of the problems. It seems that now you are going in the right direction and that is great, if you can kick the coffee addiction and any other addictions that is great, at least reduce coffee and alcohol and other stimulants as much as possible (none is best). I am glad you are noticing benefits from the 'caveman' diet but I don't think you should be too strict with this and I would be careful with fatty meats and red meats as some could be beneficial but too much could cause you problems long term, also large amounts of meats can tend to be overly heating for someone like you. Just remember that it took you a while to get your health out of balance and it also takes time to get it back into balance.
parasite cleanses and other cleanses can be very helpful, but the most important thing is to open up your body's natural cleansing processes and let it cleanse itself. This means getting everything back into balance and this can be a painful process.
