All of the washing, vaseline, etc. is good. However, the excess moisture can promote the growth of a fungus on the skin.
To prevent this, use a gentle blow dryer after washing the rectum.
Inspect your skin with a mirror. If you have an itchy rash this may be a fungus. A topical antifungal like Lotrimin will cure this.
Place your underwear in the sun with the crotch facing up. This will kill the pinworm eggs.
Try this instead of Vaseline: clear hair styling gel without alcohol. The goal is to have a thick layer of gel so the eggs cannot be laid. Gel is less messy than Vaseline.
Persistence is the key. It will take at least two months of treatment.
