Change the diet
No dairy is the way to go.
Your son is 4 1/2, this is still an age that you can control what he eats. As the mother, you can say NO DAIRY in the house. That will be better for everyone. That means no cheese, no ice cream. And eat in the home as much as possible. It's difficult, if not impossible, to find healthy food in restaurants. When you do go out, make sure that your son's food has no dairy (no, a "little bit" is not okay). Other people could eat dairy if they choose, although to support your son it would be nice if they didn't.
I had allergies for years, when I went off ALL dairy it was like night and day, my incredibly annoying allergies went away and have not come back in these past 4 years.
No soft drinks is a great step, as you had mentioned. Keep it up. For life, if possible.
None of those "soy cheese" products, they contain casein which is milk protein and one of the culprits.
Eliminate or greatly reduce sugar and white flour foods.
Reduce "fruit juice" unless it is fresh.
Encourage your whole family to eat fresh foods. Raw fruits and vegetables, cooked vegetables, whole grains like brown rice and oatmeal, and beans. If you like to eat meat, go ahead for now, beef chicken and fish have less impact on allergies than dairy products. Unless you want to go whole-hog (pardon the pun) and become vegans! But either way, make sure that the bulk of the meals are vegetables and fruits.
Don't give dairy as a "reward" for special occasions. This makes it seem more special and desirous. BTW you can make delicious ice cream with frozen bananas in a champion juicer or bullet grinders, or of course chocolate milk shakes with frozen bananas, cocoa powder and maybe a little molasses or maple syrup (and to make it creamier, coconut cream) in the blender.
It is too hard on children (or anyone) to be forced to eat one thing while everyone else eats something else that you can't have. So as a family you would all have to transition to eating healthy dairy-free processed-food-free meals at home. Everyone gets healthier, that's the benefit!
Sounds like you already read about the water cure. Putting the salt IN the water can be kinda nauseating, did he try it with just licking a small amount of salt off his hand or a spoon, then following it with a big glass or two of pure water?
Also have you heard of EFT? That can be used for asthma in particular. I haven't used it myself, but I have heard great success reports. I don't know of a link in particular but I believe you can find information at Dr. Mercola's website,

Your son obviously has SERIOUS health concerns, and at such a young age! I would strongly recommend that you cut out ALL processed foods, all breads and flours and pasta and sugar and dairy and feed him high-raw vegan foods for at least several months, later adding back in some grains (but not dairy). The just a little won't hurt mentality can undermine his progress. You are fortunate that he is indeed still young enough that you can do this big favor for him and get him back to good health. If he were a teenager, then it would be extremely difficult.
Oh, and if he makes a big deal out of, just keep going. You know your child, but I would think it's better to make it seem like you are just trying out and introducing some different yummy tasty foods and make it a fun experience, and it "just so happens" that you aren't eating all those foods you used to eat. Instead of making an announcement that certain foods are BANNED and forbidden. When someone is hungry, they will eat the food that is available.
Green tea can be helpful for allergies as a natural antihistamine but remember, it is a crutch.

There's a lot you can do with food and with herbs, perhaps MH can get you more info on that, but herbs and supplements can only do a limited amount of things without the accompanying whole-hearted diet change! MH recommends a fruitarian diet or at least vegan.
Hope that helps. You can do it! Keep reading Curezone - do searches and read old archives!!!!!!!! Lots of great info here!
