In a word… Yes.

Look at what we do. We (By which I mean the CIA) started secret prisons in secret global locations so we could secretly fly "suspects" so we can torture them. Does that sound like ethical people who care about the lives of others?

We've got Guantánamo, where we are imprisoning people indefinitely without charging them for any crime, oh and torturing them on top of it.

We got the largest prison population in the world right now.

It wouldn't surprise me not one little bit if government security officers just sat there and observed, completely uncaring
