I assume ALA has some significance to yeast. In my opinion the link between mercury - yeast - and ALA is so close, they in some way interact. (mercury is often present w/ candida, ALA can bond to the mercury, ALA is rumored to slightly feed the candida, etc)

Does it happen also with other antifungals?

If not it may not be the yeast.
