I always ask the women why they date who they date. No more important question than that. Don't ask the sociopath why he who he is...who the hell cares? Not I. Don't you be the one asking either. You're not on this earth to cure everybody, to diagnosis the world's losers. You need to date correctly, efficiently, dump the losers quick, and keep moving on. Develop a keen sense of who is a loser and who isn't. If you pay attention to who you've been dating, you'll see a pattern.
