My Psoriasis Story; Planning to Liver Flush

In early March 2012 I had a laparoscopic gallbladder removal due to a couple years of gallstone attacks. The end of March or early April as my body was recovering from from surgery I started to realize that I’m coming along with a bad case of dandruff. I would scratch and peel sheds of dead scalp flakes off my head. Soon after the so called “dandruff” flare, I began getting itchy and redness on my genital areas and belly button area. I had no idea what it was, but it was getting worse and I knew I had to see a doctor. One of the incision sites from the surgery also did not want to heal. The sore from one of the incision sites was growing instead of healing.

I went to a dermatologist and they diagnosed me with psoriasis. The incision site that did not heal from surgery was called the Koebner effect. I have scalp psoriasis and inverse psoriasis at the time that I saw a dermatologist. A month later I began forming psoriasis under my breasts and armpits and then guttate psoriasis covered my body from my legs to my back to my arms. I also had patches of psoriasis form on my face and ears. I developed some on my tongue for a short time but it went away. I wasn’t sure if the one on my tongue was geographic tongue or psoriasis. I showed my derm, but she had no clue what was on my tongue. Eventually it went away.

My derm prescribed me scalp oil for my scalp. It helped for a short time, then my body got used to it and it eventually stopped working. I was prescribed creams for the inverse but that also stopped working after use. I was then prescribed Humira which helped for 3 months. Then it stopped working and I have been experiencing a couple to a few side effects of the Humira anyways so I asked my derm if it’s okay to stop using Humira and to try to cure this psoriasis naturally.

I’ve read on the internet that people say that psoriasis is caused in the digestive system. And I in part believe it, as my family or ancestors has never had psoriasis. I’m a pacific islander from Guam, and I still have grandparents who are alive to tell me about my family health history. This all really started after I had my gallbladder removed. The derm says that my body was physically stressed from the gallbladder removal surgery, but at the time of recovery, I didn’t feel stressed at all. I actually felt great and was up and moving a week later with no pain and I was comfortable with my body. I’d also like to point out that I haven’t really had regular bowel movements since the surgery. I have bad diarrhea, and I pass stools 4-8 times a day. Before the surgery I had fairly tough healthy stools. Now, I pass jelly/mucous/fatty like stools. It’s one of those “When you gotta go... you gotta GO!” diarrhea moments. And ever since the surgery I haven’t experienced at least one acid reflux. Is that normal?

Since the prescriptions from the doctors didn’t help much at all, I plan to do a liver flush to cleanse my body and try to fix this naturally.

To the people with psoriasis, do you think that psoriasis is caused in the digestive system? Have you tried liver flushes and seen improvement in your psoriasis?
