I need to add the things that work and are free: sleeping with a fan on until you get habituated, download a noise generator file and listen to it. You can eat anything you want, as it won't make a difference, unless you've read somewhere that IT MAKES a difference. And above all, go out with your friends, have fun, do sports, etc, etc, as little by little each day, you will have a few more minutes of quiet until it's all gone. Now if you have lots of money--my favorite, is to rent a room in a hotel in Miami Beach right on the eastern side, facing the ocean for a week and open the balcony doors or windows to let the sound of the waves into the until 24/7 and you will not hear your T all week...trust me it will quiet down.
