Re: Looks like it really might be all in my head. Neurological issues coming into play
Faith - I'm so happy for you that you've had good news - a birthday gift in disguise?!
I think a fair few worry about pituitary and hypothalamus tumours when the adrenals and thyroid go do-lally...and don't have a doctor willing to issue an MRI!! At least you've been able to put that concern to bed :-)
Like you say - isn't it a marvel really that they don't do adrenal tests as standard? They picked up your low BP and low electrolyte - bless 'em - they were getting warmer to why that might be - but missed the primary reason! At least you know now that the path of healing you are on is correct.
Wonderful about your thyroid!!
I'll pass on any info i find about the ovulation/adrenal link - i started to notice ovulation about 2 yrs ago - never been one to chart my cycles (always hated hormones - now i am FORCED to know about them!)..but when the AF started to really affect me 2 yrs ago i would get severe PMS with ovulation - i would often expect my period, thinking it was early, the symptoms were that severe.
Now i'm in crash mode i crash during ovulation...instinct says it's an adrenal related issue - i'll avert my attention to more research into this area.
Regarding vitamin C - On L.Wilson's site i was just reading about Vit C chelating copper as well as other toxic metals. It also enhances oxidation. Have you had a recent hair test? I have the same effect with C taken larger than 1g at a time. I get dizzy and drained - when i experimented with 3 x 4g doses throughout the day for 3 days i just got more and more lethargic and dizzy - couldn't walk balanced. My hair test showed copper/aluminium toxicity so i'm wondering if you having vit C (large amount stored in the adrenals don't forget- which i suspect those with AF issues possibly don't have a large store) is either stimulating your adrenals too much or stirring up a toxic metal? Maybe you get a flush of oxidation and would feel it if you're a low oxidiser perhaps? Not sure really - thinking out loud to give cluess.
I'm back down to 2g a day at most.
I'd love to try those snazzy stockings! Not sure if i should just yet as i have stone cold feet and calves so don't want to restrict circulation further. Do they make your feet colder Faith? I'd certainly try them for BP improvements.
Glad you're doing well and have more peace of mind you're on the right path :-)
