Yes, just for fun (not) I looked up a typical supplement / diet page for pregnancy, thought about linking it, but couldnt, as it made me ITCH just reading some of it.
It is the same recommendations I got 17 years ago; calcium, vit D, iron, folic acid. Luckily I was a difficult "patient".
Very few mention iodine
-or magnesium (prevents preclampsia /eclampsia)
-or vit B(for digestion, prevents heart burn, needed for uptake of minerals)
-or zinc (prevents stretch marks; yes it is a deficiency)
- childbearing women are warned against taking more than 500 mg of vit c daily, as it can make the child "dependent" on it, or something..
also we are warned against to much salt (the amnotic fluid is almost as saline as sea water)

Iodine protocol, more or less...
