Tips & help needed badly..Horrible Cystic Acne!! Mirena user for 6yrs.
Hi! I stumbled upon this site late last night..I am so thankful i did!! :) Its so amazing knowing there are other people out there that are dealing with the same kinds of horrible "side effects". I truly do hate to know that others are suffering as well, i really do. But, knowing that there is hope & that there are other women out there myself seems to help a little.
I have had Mirena for 6yrs and 3 months. I thought Mirena was great..no period what so ever almost immediately after getting it in. No weight gain, no major mood swings, not really any cramping...nothing really to complain of. That lasted for approx 3-4yrs. In the last 1-2yrs (yes..i do still have THE SAME IUD in. keep reading...)things drastically started changing. My face started breaking out in big nodules. like big, hot, red, painful knots full of clear juice. lovely. I have been a single mom since my daughter was 2, so this has done horrible damage to me emotionally, confidence is gone, and the shit is now leaving scars. i look like im on serious drugs. which, is not the case.
Since it all started, i always have one big cyst somewhere on my face..usually chin/cheek area. sometimes i get a few big nasty break outs & its horrible. I cant leave them alone, they hurt! and feel better if i release some of the pressure. its truly awful. i have tried pro-activ, i have ordered some stuff thats supposed to be just for cystic acne/rosea, and it helped for a while...but now it seems my skin is used to it & is no longer effective. Also-- i have never had horrible acne, or really
Acne at all. I would randomly get a lil pimple or something, but this is intense!! & I will be 30 yrs old in May. :(
In addition to this horrible acne, I have also been afflicted with the chin hair outbreak. I pluck daily, they are coarse and black. and if i dont pluck them, watch out. also..seems alot of the cystic outbreak is on or near the hair...
And yes-- if there is any left that stayed with me, i do STILL have the IUD in. It was due out October 2011. :( but, i cannot afford it at this point!! I haven't had insurance since 2010.. its pay check to paycheck.. but, im thinking with taxes this year im going to do it. But, that brings up my next problem!! Im TERRIFIED to get this thing removed!!! How does doctor do it? How are you immediately after procedure? Ughhh i wish so badly i had thought about this a little more thorough 5+yrs ago. I wish the damn thing would just dissolve. And is the removal going to be worse since mine has been in longer than the 5 recommended years??
Thank-you all for your time.. any help/tips/opinions would be so greatly appreciated!! :)
Meg~~
