Re: 20 yr old w/Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome(PCOS)
Hi Melly,
Woops! Tony and I posted at the same time. But here are more suggestions, mainly focusing on diet.
Let's start with Lyme's. How is she addressing that? Colloidal silver is very effective in treating Lyme's, but the thing is at this point, she would probably need to drink a lot for an extended period of time. Actually, I would start with 8 oz a day and as she improves, reduce the amount slowly.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome results when there is too many androgens, which is a male hormone. Exercise is a must in treating this condition. At least 30 minutes every day.
Diet plays a very important role in treating this condition. She should adopt an anti-inflammatory diet. This means that the normal Standard American Diet that too many Americans eat should go out the proverbial window. This type of diet inflames the body and leads to disease. Her diet should consist of as many fresh fruits and vegetables as possible, concentrating on cruciferous vegetables. Needless, to say these should be organic.
She should definitely eliminate sugar, and also avoid wheat, focusing on whole grains, such as brown rice and bulgur wheat. Beans, winter squashes, and sweet potatoes are good. Above all, she should avoid products with fructose and corn syrup like the plague.
When cooking, she sould use extra-virgin olive oil or coconut oil. No vegetable oils, safflower, sunflower, corn, and cottonseed oils.
No dairy products, and no supermarket meats. These types of meats contain hormones that make the problem worse. In fact, she should avoid all animal proteins and fats. She can get the majority of her protein from beans. She can eat yogurt, but not commercial yogurt, it must be natural. She can also eat fish, but it must be fresh caught fish, not farmed.
Drinking lots of pure water or healthy juices is also important.
She should take a good, food derived supplement daily. Not One-A-Day, Centrum, or any commercial brand. These are synthetic and petroleum based. If I may suggest IntraMax, which is the best one Tony and I have found which we take daily.
Dong Quai is another excellent supplement to take, as it supports hormonal balance.
Birth control pills and metmorfin are used by mainstream medicine to control symptoms but I am not a fan of either. They are bandaids and do not get to the root of the problem. And they both come with side effects. By the way, if anyone ever suggests metmorfin, that medication has some really dangerous side effects. That is something I would not go near with a ten foot pole.
Hope this helps. Just want to say that diet is crucial in addressing this and every other adverse condition that affects the body.
My Best,
Luella
