Coughing, regurgitating, digestive issues (long post)

Hi all, I'm new here and after lots of reading I'm finally posting.....

Has anyone ever coughed/regurgitated anything like this?

(It's about 6-7 inches long, floating in water....should I put these in another liquid to verify?)

I've suspected roundworms for a couple months, ever since my cats tested positive and I thought I saw myself pass some. A friend told me it was highly unlikely and I wanted to believe her. But lately I am convinced I have them.

For about a week, every time I eat, right after I eat, I spend up to an hour coughing/regurgitating clear mucous with these long clear worm-looking strings, sometimes with food attached (though they are clear and stand out from it), sometimes it's just the thick, gummy, silicone-like mucous/larvae. In water, these worms (or whatever they are) mostly float horizontally, though some float vertically, and some of it just coagulates into one mass. When I stir it around the string structures become very obvious, but they stretch and contract, they're mucoid. Some of them seem to originate in my stomach, others in my lungs, sometimes I can't tell.

I read that mucous tends to be stringy. But I'm 99% sure these aren't originating from my body. Let's just say that I have plenty of experience with bronchitis and vomiting (I was a teenage bulimic smoker, fully recovered 10 years now), so I know too well what my own vomit and lung mucus feel like, and this is not it. (Of course, no doctor would ever believe my testimony...)

It's actually been going on for around a month, occasionally at first, but now I can't even eat without this happening. The only time it doesn't happen is when I am drinking very thin liquids. It doesn't happen on an empty stomach. Sometimes this happens with smoothies, depending how thick they are. I will add that I'm a grad student, it's finals time, and I've mostly been living on green smoothies, soy lattes, and sometimes beer/wine.

Other reasons I haven't been eating much lately: appetite loss and stomach pain, also for about a month now I've been having trouble swallowing and even occasional slight food aspiration. The swallowing thing gets worse because I get horrible anxiety about it. Could this be related to the roundworms migrating from my lungs into my stomach? Because they have to pass over the epiglottis, and that seems to be where I have trouble swallowing....

Between the larvae things, the swallowing problems, and the stomach pain, plus lifestyle factors (stress, no time, etc), eating is unpleasant and undesirable lately because I don't want to go through all that :( Clearly I am nutritionally deprived, (and I normally eat VERY healthy and work out and generally have a strong immune system.) I've lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks. Its so bad lately that had red wine for dinner last night so I didn't have to go through this, also just to calm the worms down :(

Is it possible that slow starvation could make this regurgitation/coughing thing worse? Why is this happening? Could the worms be starving and coming up into my stomach? Since I generally have a strong immune system, could this regurgitating thing possibly my body's attempt at fighting them off?

Other symptoms:
coughing (feel like I'm getting a respiratory infection)
lung congestion
throat hurts (probably from all this)
stomach pain
crawling sensations in my lower GI
occasional pain in the lower left side of my gut
itchy butt and genitals
heartburn and acid reflux
headaches
cramping
occasionally I think I see them in my stool
fatigue, mental and physical
sometimes, trouble breathing

Has anyone else here had similar experiences?

I would go to a doctor if I believed they could help me, but I know they would put me through some invasive tests that would probably come up negative and they would blame it on something else, like lifestyle, acid reflux or anxiety.

I've been through that doctor circus twice before, first with chronic candida (caused by birth control pills--I had to figure that one out for myself), then several years ago when I contracted a horrific mysterious parasite in the backcountry that they never even identified, not even after seeing 3 drs and a GI specialist. So, I'm not even bothering. Maybe I'll go to my veterinarian instead. Actually, I just ordered some Humaworm and Humacleanse, so I figure I'll start with that. It will be my first time cleansing.

Sorry this is so long, it's just really bad and you all seem to be very knowledgeable about these things. Thank you for any thoughts or advice.
